Glitter, Jagerbombs and the Grumpy Old Man Who Said Yes | Hannah & Will at St Tewdrics House
Alright, buckle up, because this one’s a wild ride.
These two met in Cardiff on a night out that started classy and ended… well, in a bar that can only be described as questionable at best. Will was down from Devon on a stag do chasing cheap Jagerbombs. Hannah was there with her girls on the hunt for a toilet and maybe a bit of trouble.
She left her handbag on the bar, wandered off, came back and accused Will of being exactly the kind of bloke who’d nick it. Romantic, right? Anyway, a few drinks later, they were kissing before they even knew each other’s ages. Both thought the other was 25. Both very wrong. Turns out there’s nearly a decade between them, which explains why he’s a self-proclaimed grumpy old man and she’s, in her words, “way more fun.”
Eight years later they’ve got a four-year-old whirlwind called Joel, a vet clinic’s worth of pets (including cats named Poppy and Ashton Kutcher, obviously), and a shared love of festivals, camping, gin, and basically any excuse for a brewery tour.
We didn’t stop laughing.
The Proposal – Featuring Pink, Glitter and Panic
Will had a plan… It was supposed to be romantic. Emotional. The perfect cinematic moment during Pink’s big love song at the Principality Stadium.
Except it wasn’t… He got stressed, panicked, and blurted out “will you marry me” halfway through The Script’s set instead. The man couldn’t even wait for Pink. Hannah said yes, obviously, then spent the rest of the concert sprinting around the stadium showing strangers the ring instead of watching the show… Priorities.
THE MOMENTS
St Tewdrics House – The One
They’d had their eye on a few places like St Donat’s and St Fagans, but none of them felt right. Then St Tewdrics popped up online and Hannah went full “this is the one.” The second they set foot there, it was game over. The smell of the house, the grounds, the pergola, all of it. They cancelled the rest of their viewings on the spot.
And honestly, it makes sense. St Tewdrics has that modern-meets-countryside vibe that fits them perfectly. Beautiful, but not pretentious. Elegant, but still somewhere you could neck a gin and have a good laugh without anyone clutching their pearls.
The Outfits
They kept their outfits secret from each other, and Hannah was slightly terrified he’d rock up in something that clashed with the colours. But the lad did good. He wore a pale blue and grey check three-piece suit, looked dapper as hell, and even made his mum cry when he tried it on.
Hannah found her dress last-minute at a retirement sale, went in thinking it’d be a disaster, and walked out with the one. The first dress she tried on. Boom.
The Vibe – Colour, Chaos and Gin
Forget your beige, white, and sage green weddings. Too classy, too calm. These two went full colour explosion. Pink, purple, green and blue everywhere. Bright, bold, and fun, just like them.
They used gin bottles as centrepieces, all dressed up in their colour palette, and even named their tables after gins. Their top table? “Taylor Made.” Honestly, it looked banging.
Food-wise, they went for what they loved, goat’s cheese tart and pork belly from Epic Catering, and wedding cake for dessert because obviously cake beats mousse.
Flowers were a mix of fresh and dried, all in those wild colours, with Hannah rocking a flower crown and Joel looking adorable with his mint buttonhole.
“We knew Naim was the right choice for us as soon as we had a video call with him. He was hilarious and we didn’t stop laughing. We could really picture him putting us and our family and friends at ease on the wedding day – and we weren’t wrong! Naim and Alan were simply amazing.”
